Peat is a natural product from the transformation for centuries of decomposed vegetation. The formation of peat is the first stage of the process by which the vegetation is transformed into mineral coal, and it is produced slowly as a consequence of a low microbial activity, the acidity of the water and a low oxygen concentration of the ecosystem in which it is found.

The peat has multiple applications: its water retention capacity makes it suitable for use in gardening substrates, in organic fertilizers and crop soil improvers, for cleaning oil spills, for water purification filters, as well as fuel. In addition, its chemical compounds make it suitable for skin treatments

Given the multiple properties of peat applications, our R&D department has developed a peat paste for use in cosmetics and balneotherapy under the MudNatur brandname.
